I keep this alogside my cooktop with olive oil so I can lightly brush skillets before cooking. Works best when pan is already somewhat warm, but silicone brush can take the heat. Gives a light and even coating of oil. A great alternative to pan spray, which should not be used with nonstick cookware finishes (gums them up). I keep only small amounts of oil in it so it doesn't risk going rancid, then pop the rubber grip ring and put the beaker into the dishwasher. I wash the rubber grip ring separately to preserve it, and only rinse the lid/brush combo in hot water (silicone can absorb soap flavors). Could wish it were metal as this thing gets super slippery when oily--even the rubber grip ring. Ordering a backup just in case it ever breaks. Otherwise. . . love it.

I love this brush and jar. I keep it by the stove and use it to brush my panini with olive oil as I put it in the panini press. It takes little counter space and is a fun color. Since it is small, I can put only a little oil in it and run it through the dishwasher each time I use all of the oil.

I bought this as a gift for someone who enjoys barbecuing. It is well made & aesthetically pleasing to look at,(I would leave it out). I assume it will be put to good use.
